James Taylor is a writer, policy analyst, radio host, and public speaker.
Taylor is Senior Fellow for Environment Policy at the Heartland Institute, a nationally prominent free-market think tank. Taylor oversees energy, environment, and climate issues at Heartland, which the Economist calls “the world’s most prominent think tank promoting skepticism about man-made climate change.” The George Soros-funded liberal activist group Media Matters listed Taylor and the Heartland Institute at the very top of its “Climate Denial Machine” enemies list.
With his home base in Florida, Taylor is also Communications Director for Media Trackers Florida. Media Trackers Florida investigates and calls attention to liberal bias and unethical conduct by the media, politicians, and government officials.
Reaching a national audience every week, Taylor writes a weekly column for Forbes magazine that is published at Forbes.com.
Every Saturday at 3:00 pm Eastern time, Taylor hosts the hour-long Inside Florida Politics program on conservative talk radio station 860 WGUL in Tampa. WGUL, which is owned by Salem Communications and is part of the iHeart radio network, broadcasts Taylor’s program live on its Internet site and also posts archived audio files of Taylor’s shows.
A frequent guest on national television news programs, Taylor has presented energy and environment analysis on CNN, CNN Headline News, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Channel, MSNBC, PBS News Hour, PBS Frontline, CBS Evening News and ABC World News. Taylor has also been published in virtually every major newspaper in the United States.
Taylor has given energy and environment briefings to the President of the European Union, U.S. senators, U.S. congressmen, U.S. governors, and dozens of state legislators. Taylor was a primary author of Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry’s energy policy and appeared on national television advocating energy policy on Perry’s behalf. Taylor subsequently advised the Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney campaigns on energy and environment issues.
Taylor frequently testifies in government hearings on energy and environment issues.
Taylor has been a featured presenter at conferences sponsored by such groups as the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), Council of State Governments, National Association of Counties, National Foundation of Women Legislators, State Policy Network, Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Cato Institute, Heritage Foundation, and European Institute for Climate and Energy.
